OLYMPICS STORY OF DA DOAM!!!!!!

High Jump As I look up at the crowd, roaring and screaming at the top of their lungs, I feel the softness of the leafs under my paws, the intensity building, whilst waiting for my turn. Blood pumping through my body, big bumps from my heart. “Bump Bump, Bump Bump” I hear wind whistling through the trees and into my ears. My fur, soft, cuddly and fuzzy, stands on edge. As I start my turn, I listen to the screech of the starter. “SQUAWK!!!”, signalling me to start, long leg steps getting faster and faster. Lifting my feet off the ground, I’m airborne. Seeing the height, it looks 1,000,000 metres tall, as tall as the sky itself. Back bending to get over the pole,the sigh of relief when you realise you’re over the bar, the cushioned feeling of landing on the crunchy and cushioned leaves after jumping as high as possible. The crowd goes wild, everyone, screaming and yelling, “YAY HE’S DONE IT!” 1st place finish and gold medal.

My triangular prism had 9 vertices, 6 edges and 5 faces. My triangular pyramid had 7 vertices, 5 edges and 4 faces.

The Football Pitch

I have Activated the nouns used in this poem This is my version of the poem The Old Alley Way The Football Pitch Grassy dirt sticks to my sprigs, Lots of hard wind pushes me until I lose my balance, Cold water soaks my body as I hit the ground, Loud cheers scream from the sidelines, My awesome team plays like Barcelona, Fast balls fly through the air at top speed, Shuddering posts echo at a high pitch, Stringy nets swing as the ball zooms through them, Numbered kits sway as we run up and down, again and again, Chained fences whip at my ankles, Stinky sweat drips from my droopy hair. SURFACE FEATURES Spells most words correctly. Uses capital letters, full stops, commas, apostrophes, question marks, exclamation marks.

THE REWORKER / EDITOR Rereads writing to edit out information that does not improve the message. Rereads writing to edit in words and phrases that improve the message. Uses a dictionary to identify and check spelling attempts. Checks writing for basic punctuation.

My Holidays

In the holidays some friends from Auckland came over for five days. Their names were Olivia, Kendall Jane, George (Kendalls boyfriend), Neo (the dog), Darrell and Karen.

Whilst they were here we went to the Go-Karting place next to paintball 007. The man there would put water on the track so that we could do skids around the middle of the track. The track had features like there were tyres round the track.

On Tuesday I went to a Football Program at Woodford House. We were in the gym mostly because it was raining and we couldn’t play outside, but the good thing was that we were outside for one day. On the last day there we had a Futsal Tournament, the teams were Honduras (my team), Ghana, Germany and thats all the teams I can remember.

Me and my Dad went to the movies on Saturday, we went to watch How To Train Your Dragon 2, I thought it was an AMAZING movie. On Friday night Matthew and my Dad went to see Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes.

In the weekend we got five movies for $5 from Video Ezy in Havelock. We got Men In Black 3, Fantastic Four, Mr Bean and my brothers movies were Semi-Pro, Rush Hour 3, Rush Hour 2, Four Brothers And Star Wars Family Guy

Moment In Time At Night

I heard my bedroom door slam shut.

I heard my Mum and Dads foot steps going down the hallway….

I saw my bedroom light go out.

I saw my feet wriggle around in the bottom of my bed.

I felt the duvet get blown around in the air.

I felt my head sink into my pillow.

I wondered if there was someone else in my room.

I wondered if I would fall off the edge of my bed.

In class I have been learning about the points of the compass and directions.

This week I learnt about a programme called Scratch which uses directions to create a little computer program.

My job was to use Scratch to create something that could be shared with the rest of the class. What my Scratch was about was all down to me and my imagination! I had to be creative!
