The Football Pitch
I have Activated the nouns used in this poem
This is my version of the poem The Old Alley Way
The Football Pitch
Grassy dirt sticks to my sprigs,
Lots of hard wind pushes me until I lose my balance,
Cold water soaks my body as I hit the ground,
Loud cheers scream from the sidelines,
My awesome team plays like Barcelona,
Fast balls fly through the air at top speed,
Shuddering posts echo at a high pitch,
Stringy nets swing as the ball zooms through them,
Numbered kits sway as we run up and down, again and again,
Chained fences whip at my ankles,
Stinky sweat drips from my droopy hair.
